If I use Twitch, I don't know exactly what it's doing, if it's bloated with memory or phoning home about my activity or whatever, plus I'd have to log into Twitch on top of to Minecraft-needlessly when I'm neither watching streams or providing them and don't plan to ever do so. If I use MultiMC, I can be pretty confident that all it does is launch Minecraft and offer utilities for that, and I could be certain if I took the time to look through its open-source code. I don't care if it's using a byte more memory my problem is it's a black box.
